Plan a first trip
Give each half-day one main neighborhood. Pair nearby areas, protect meal time and keep one evening flexible. A three-day trip can cover historic Seoul, Seongsu and one district chosen for your interests.
A useful way to divide the city
Put historic central Seoul—Jongno, Bukchon, Insadong and Gwanghwamun—on the same day. Pair Seongsu with Seoul Forest or the Han River side. Keep Hongdae and Yeonnam together, and treat Gangnam or Jamsil as a separate half-day because cross-city travel takes longer than it appears on a map.
Getting around
Subway and walking cover most visitor routes. Use a rechargeable transit card, check the correct station exit and use a Korea-friendly map app for final walking directions.
- Save both the station name and exit number for every first stop.
- Allow 10–15 minutes inside large transfer stations.
- Check the last train before committing to a late evening across town.
- Keep your hotel address written in Korean for taxis.
Choose a realistic daily pace
| Travel style | Good daily target | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Relaxed | One main neighborhood plus dinner nearby | Crossing the city twice |
| Balanced | Two adjacent areas with a reserved meal break | More than three ticketed sights |
| Fast-paced | One central cluster and one evening district | Ignoring station exits and queues |
